The endorsement took place on Sunday during a mega unity meeting held in Ughelli, drawing party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from across federal, state, and local government levels.
The motion to adopt Tinubu and Oborevwori was moved by Francis Waive, the member representing Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency.
He lauded Tinubu’s bold economic reforms and described Oborevwori’s governance as a quiet but steady fulfilment of the MORE Agenda for Delta State.
“In President Tinubu, we have a man who has demonstrated courage and foresight in addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges.
And in Governor Oborevwori, we see a leader who is quietly delivering on the MORE agenda,” Waive declared.
The motion was seconded by former lawmaker Halims Agoda and unanimously adopted through a voice vote conducted by Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central in the Senate.
The meeting also passed a vote of confidence in both Tinubu and Oborevwori, consolidating the district’s backing for their joint re-election bid.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo (SAN), described the meeting as a historic and strategic mobilisation effort for 2027.
“President Tinubu is the most astute manager of Nigeria’s economy we have seen in recent history.
His Renewed Hope Agenda aligns perfectly with Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda—and together, they are bringing tangible results to the people,” Keyamo said.
Calling Ughelli the “Ukodo base” of Delta politics, Keyamo claimed that for the first time since 1999, the Urhobo nation is fully united under the APC.
He announced plans to replicate similar unity meetings across all eight local governments in Delta Central.
APC State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, praised party members for their commitment and hailed both Oborevwori and Keyamo for championing intra-party harmony. “Delta APC is stronger, more united, and ready to deliver,” he said.
Chief Paulinus Akpeki, APC Chairman for Delta Central, hailed Oborevwori’s alignment with the APC as a game-changing political move, saying, “The governor’s decision has reshaped Delta State’s political landscape.”
Among the other notable attendees were O’tega Emerhor, Chief Stella Okotete of NEXIM Bank, Chief Adviser to the Governor Ighoyota Amori, and Chief Jaro Egbo, Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government.
