Aminu Bello Masari is a seasoned Nigerian politician who served as the Governor of Katsina State from 2015 to 2023.
Born on May 29, 1950, he has an extensive legislative background, notably serving as the Speaker of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007, a period during which he was instrumental in resisting attempts to extend presidential term limits.
Before his governorship, he held various positions within the Katsina State civil service.
As governor, Masari’s administration prioritized security, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development, particularly in addressing the challenges of banditry in the state.
He remains a respected voice within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
